Passport Acceptance Services
The Clarksburg-Harrison Public Library and the Salem Library accept passport applications by appointment on behalf of the U.S. Department of State.
If this is your first time applying for a passport, please have the following:
- Completed application
- Accepted proof of U.S. citizenship
- Acceptable form of ID
- Two separate payments for both the U.S. Department of State and the library
What to Know Before Your Appointment
- Passport photos are not provided at the library. Places such as CVS Pharmacy, Walgreens, and Staples can take these photos.
- Please arrive on time for your appointment. If you are going to be late, please call the library to let us know.
- Some forms can be completed online. Visit travel.state.gov or call the library for more information.
Payment Information
- Payments must be made separately to the U.S. Department of State and to the Clarksburg-Harrison Public Library.
- The library accepts checks, money orders, or bank drafts, but cannot accept counter/starter checks.
- Please review payment and application guidelines on the U.S. Department of State website.
Additional Information
- Routine processing takes approximately 6–8 weeks; expedited service is available for an additional fee.
- Both parents and the child must be present for applicants under age 16.
- For renewals, most applicants can renew by mail without visiting a passport acceptance facility.
