Farm to Fable

Farm to Fable-STEAM

Date July 6

Time 1:00-2:00

Ages 6-11

Science: Children will make faces of Old McDonalds farm animals out of different shapes with construction paper, like in Lois Ehlerts Color Farm and color zoo. 

Technology: Code the Oats, Peas traditional folk song by drawing the movements of have the older children come up with symbols for the movements. 

Engineering: Using whatever building materials that are available, have The Three Little Pigs building a farmhouse together, strong enough to withstand the big bad wolf. 

Art: coloring pages, with the fairy tale names unlabeled so they can figure out which vegetables are in each. 

Math: Children have to put the animals' pictures in order from biggest animal to smallest so they all can pull together to get the turnip out of the ground like in the Giant Turnip. This also has a touch of science because of physics with energy/matter/force. 

All material will be provided.
